  • I love, love, Love this car

I purchase the Acura TLX with the technology Package 2.4L at the end of September 2016 and so far I enjoy driving this car. It is so smooth and responsive to the road. I was aware that Acura 2015 version has some issues with the transmission prior to purchase; however, i was told that in the 2016 model those issues where addressed. So far I'm in love with my car and hope that it maintains the Honda/Acura badge of reliability, value, and quality. I test drove other luxury brand of cars and yes they all felt great, especially the BMW3 series; but, the Acura had more features for the price.
  • Cool car! Most features included in the base model

Acura TLX 2015 is a major update and completely replaced TSX and TL. Ive owned it since January 2016. I chose this car because its base model included all desirable features like sun roof, back up camera, driver and passenger side power seats, TPMS and maintenance indicators. The 2.4 liter engine generates enough power to drive around on the highway (35 mpg). The ride in the city is extremely comfortable (25 mpg). One thing all my passengers point out is that the cabin is very quiet. The sound system delivers a crisp sound but may lack some bass. Only cons I can think of are that the dual screens are not really needed unless you have a navigation system. Also, the bluetooth takes about 5 seconds to connect to my iPhone. So if I am on a call and get into the car, there will be 5 seconds of downtime. Overall, its the best luxury car for the price in my opinion.
  • Lots of positives and a few negatives

Overall this car is great! I absolutely love the styling both inside and out. The A-spec trim level is a head turner, great body lines fantastic rims/wheels. The inside cabin is laid out nice, love the steering wheel and steering wheel controls, the gage cluster is real-real good. I averaged 32 mpg on a 1,400 mile road rip from South Carolina to Minnesota as well, about 28 around town, sp pretty darn good! The bad? Well the paint job is super cheap; my car has paint chips everywhere!! Sucks, I am not the only one either if you do a search on TLX & ILX paint jobs (newer ones, say 2014 and up) you will see there are a lot of complaints about the quality, or lack thereof the paint jobs coming out of the Ohio plant where they are made. I am hoping to bring this to Acura for a warranty claim, TBD for now…but no question they have an issue. Also, the “premium” sound system is a joke, they need a B & O one of even a Bose, their ELS I believe they call it is marginal and what I would expect in a 23K Mazda3. Over all great car, handles great, decent get up and go, fantastic styling…. Just that paint and fake “premium” sound system are my only 2 BIG dingers against it.
